My First Day -- Sort Of
Yesterday Emma got accepted to a program at Hopkins, so we went out to celebrate. Things may have gotten a little crazy, but I headed it off at the pass.
I started up Back to the Future III and passed out on the couch.
I was tired from working a long day. That's my excuse.
Even though I didn't work that long.
I did, however start work at Royal Farms. Well, I went in as an employee for the first time.
I got a call earlier in the day saying that I really impressed the manager and I should come in as soon as possible to fill out some paperwork because he wanted to put me on the schedule as soon as possible. So I went in after work and filled out the two forms that no one can be even put on the schedule there without having completed.
After the two minutes or so that it took me to fill out the crap - which seemed like it was simply one final quiz: Can you write your address out TWICE? - the manager, or "Executive Night Shift Manager," showed me around the expansive store.
He must have thought it was expansive. It took him about half an hour to show me the whole thing even though it couldn't have been any bigger than my living room. "The Otis Spunkmeyer cookies go over here in aisle two next to the Nabisco cookies, although I'm talking to the head manager about moving them closer to the counter."
He already put me on the schedule for Sunday night. I get to train with Janet, one of his "favorite employees." She's trying to get off the night shift, I think he said because of some bladder problem, but I'm not willing to wager anything on that; Brent, the manager seems to run out of steam and mumble if he's not talking about the location of pre-packaged goodies.

you are such a liar.
you know, there's nothing wrong with working a part-time job at Chuck E Cheese...why would you lie and say you're working at some fancy convenience store?

I think that this second job is taking too much of your time away from blogging.

I don't like this new job of yours. It keeps you from updating.
